Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) of the Faculty of Integrative Medicine

The Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) of the Faculty of Integrative Medicine (hereinafter, the Faculty), a center affiliated with Western Europe University (WE-U), is designed to ensure the quality and continuous improvement of all academic and administrative processes. This system is aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the Faculty of Integrative Medicine, focused on training professionals in integrative health with scientific rigor, innovation, and a holistic approach, and complies with European standards for quality assurance (ESG). The IQAS is based on WE-U’s Centre and Study Evaluation System (CESES).

This system has three fundamental purposes:

  • To ensure academic quality in all programs offered at the Faculty of Integrative Medicine, enabling it to meet the challenges of the university environment and continuous training.
  • To promote academic excellence by complying with advanced standards in teaching, research, and professional training.
  • To facilitate strategic decision-making within the WE-U University Council, guiding the growth and continuous improvement of the degree programs at the Faculty of Integrative Medicine.

The CESES is primarily oriented towards higher education programs and proprietary university degrees, ensuring that the educational activity at the Faculty of Integrative Medicine meets the requirements established by WE-U.

General objectives of the Faculty’s IQAS

The objectives of the IQAS of the Faculty of Integrative Medicine are:

  • Continuous Improvement: To implement a PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle in all processes to ensure excellence and constant adaptation to the needs of the integrative health sector.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: To ensure the satisfaction of students, teaching staff (PDI), administrative and service staff (PAS), and other collaborators, through feedback and evaluation mechanisms.
  • Educational Innovation and Scientific Rigor: To promote the use of innovative pedagogical methodologies and ensure that all programs are based on the most up-to-date scientific evidence.
  • Transparency and Communication: To maintain clear communication aboutquality processes, results, and improvements, ensuring the informed participation of the entire community.
  • Accreditation and Recognition: To comply with the requirements for obtaining and maintaining national (Andorra) and international quality accreditations, aligning with WE-U standards.

Responsible Parties for the IQAS

The main responsibility for the IQAS lies with various bodies and figures within the structure of the Faculty of Integrative Medicine, in coordination with WE-U:

  • Quality Committee (QC): It is the central body for the supervision and management of the IQAS. It reports to the Academic Directorate. It is composed of representatives from the academic directorate, faculty, students, and administrative and service staff. It is responsible for the design, monitoring, evaluation, and proposal of improvements for the IQAS and programs.
  • Dean’s Office: The highest institutional authority. It approves general quality policies, strategic plans, and significant improvement proposals, ensuring alignment with WE-U.
  • Academic Council: Advises the Dean’s Office on academic planning and quality.

It participates in the review and proposal of program improvements.

  • Academic Directorate: Responsible for the planning, execution, and supervision of academic activities. It implements quality policies in the academic sphere, including the evaluation of PDI and student monitoring.
  • Other Directorates (Administrative and Financial, Marketing and Sales):

They implement quality processes within their areas of responsibility (resources, technology, communication, etc.).

  • University Delegate: Ensures alignment with WE-U’s quality guidelines and standards.
  • Teaching and Research Staff (PDI), Administrative and Service Staff (PAS),

Students: Actively participate in data collection, evaluation, and improvement proposal processes.
